Ben Derges is terrible at his job and deserves to be fired.

I cannot speak on Mr. Derges's actions in any educated sense, so I will not try. Just a side note though, I've read a lot of media surrounding this issue that complains about a lack of freedom of speech. The first amendment guarentees your freedom from goverment legislation that takes your ability to express yourself away. It does not grant you the right to consequence-free speech. If another citizen dislikes what you said/expressed, they may react in any legal fashion. I am not saying Mr. Derges or his accusers are right or wrong, it just bothers me to see this amendment misinterpreted. You have the Freedom to express yourself, not to do so without consequences from other citizens or businesses.

This is sick to read about. He needs to face his consequences now. Not later not after trial or another day because he still has a chance to do it again. He needs imprisonment now

He needs to resign asap.

Tri-Valley has gone down hill tremendously even since I've been out of school and thats saying a lot. It was bad when I was there but all I know is Tri Valley needs teachers/principals that care about students mental health and Derges does not so I hope this helps.

I am a very intelligent student, I care very deeply for this school, it is very hard when he does not conform to his own rules. Speaking on behalf of many of my peers he has no consideration for their needs. With a considerably "high" GPA ~3.5 I can say it is not the "bad" kids that have it rough. Ben Derges only cares about what makes him look better in the eyes of others. Albeit, he has yet to understand that he is failing at his job and leaving the majority of the student body anxious and unwilling to go to school many days but we do not wish to be expelled so we must come. The way bullying, suicide, and violence is handled is unjust. Nothing is ever considered in a student perspective, Derges only see's things the way he wants to view them. I could go on but ... I could already get in much trouble for what I have said already.

Derges needs to go back where he came from. He doesn't care about the students and he doesn't help them. He can't keep promises and ALWAYS tries to make new rules but no one follows them because they're dumb and pointless af. Like really? No phones in 9th hour? It's funny how he said the EXACT same thing last year and no one followed it. No using the bathroom in 9th hour either? Lol that was broken. No one follows his rules and never will. BRING MOUSER BACK! HE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT US AND WILL TAKE ACTION! GET DERGES OUT ASAP!

He's so lazy

He views this as too much of a money making oppurtunity. Not a community. Not a place for children to grow up and begin to shape out their lives. It's not just the "troubled" kids that are angry with him because he punishes them for breaking small rules, but it is the whole school. Teachers included. His words never meet up with his actions. Student's complaints, no matter how silly or overdramatic they are, need to be taken seriously. Teenagers are over emotional and honestly a little crazy but they still need help. This is their first step into becoming adults and they need to have their voices truly heard. I don't believe Ben Derges can fully comprehend and respect that. Students- never doubt that you have a voice and that you can use it. You can make a difference. You are the next generation and the generation after you is the next one after that. Do not let them shush you, speak out, stand up. Never give up. (Derges actually told me something similar to this right after he immediately shut down one of my requests which included me presenting to the school board and having a petition with over 200 signatures, so thank you for the encouragement Derg. Maybe you should actually act upon it)

He's made that school into hell hole! Get him out!!
