The council confirmed that the antenna system on Forsythia House will be decommissioned and removed. This victory belongs to the residents who refused to back down when the city ignored our concerns. Keep a close eye on the site to ensure the equipment is fully dismantled as promised.

We are opposed to the presence of the Vodafone antenna system on Forsythia House, Brockley.
Final supporters
Forsythia House in Brockley, is a small 3 storey block of council flats in an area densely populated with children and near to schools. The antenna system appears huge and imposing and evokes a fear of radiation in almost everyone in the vicinity. Masts have been successfully opposed in other nearby locations and this has only gone ahead as there was absolutely no consultation. Recently, the residents of the block unanimously opposed the construction but the council has permitted its construction anyway. We want the council to have the equipment removed and conduct a proper consultation for a suitable site to meet Vodafones needs.

Yes, we need far better mobile reception here. But doing it in this way is not on. Masts could be sited on the local Church or spaces where consultation leads to a positive welcome. The local council, in cahoots with Vodafone, have behaved in a very high handed fashion.
No consultation, residents opposed and still it somehow gets put up. You have to jump through hoops to maintain the facade of your house in line with the area....this monstrosity certainly goes against all of that, putting the unknown health risks aside...
These masts are obviously not "a safe distance from the school", a resolution adapted by the European Parliament in 2009. As far as I know neither the school itself nor the parents of the children have been consulted.
No consultation for the approval of the installation of this potential health hazard. Understand Lewisham Council receive rent for this; why were residents and local school community not given adequate consultation for this?
I oppose to the site of this transmission. I had little knowledge of it. As a resident in Forsythia House with children as well I'm very concerned about the effects of the radiation and danger posed by this transmitter.

As the manager of a local community nursery situated in very close proximity to the mast - I am concerned at the lack of consultation and consideration of location and of the negative impact this may have on the health and wellbeing of the residents, children and their families.
