This petition is a response to recent events surrounding Subnautica 2, in which the publisher Krafton abruptly removed three key leaders from the development studio Unknown Worlds — game director Charlie Cleveland, CTO Max McGuire, and studio president Ted Gill. This happened shortly before the team was set to receive performance bonuses worth up to $250 million if the game launched by the end of 2025.

Instead of rewarding years of hard work, Krafton fired the leadership and delayed the game to 2026, effectively voiding the bonus agreement. According to the ousted leaders, the game was ready for release, and Krafton’s stated reason — that the game needed more content — is seen as a cover story.

We believe this behavior is unethical and unacceptable. The gaming industry is built by developers, artists, designers, and countless other team members — not corporate greed.

By signing this petition, we pledge not to purchase Subnautica 2 until Krafton takes responsibility for its actions, provides transparency, and makes things right with the team behind the game.
