Rugby League needs to expand away from the "heartlands" so that eventually this turn of phrase becomes redundant. Hemel are taking a backwards step

This can not be allowed to happen surely. Hemel have carried the flag for rugby league fantastically for years through adverse times, on their own, in a wilderness.
To give up that steel attitude of going it alone and fighting for everything, only to give up and basically move north ,because of a poor season or two IS NOT what Hemel stags are about. The history and struggles, and successes of the past, and all who have worked tirelessly to guide this club, from founder, players, volunteers to kids playing junior rugby.
It is paramount to keep your own identity. If you cannot run, go back to walking until you can run.
Say no to Dewsbury!

I've criticised Oxford this year for training in Castleford and I'll criticise this too. Yes in the south we lose games but it's a long term project to develop players. This move may gain Hemel competition points but it has no longevity.
