As a parent of a WHS graduate, and a teacher myself, I fully support these common sense requests.

I graduated highschool at WHS and have friends and family who still attend. I'm glad someone is still speaking up for their safety and standing up to narrow mindedness.

Dear Board, Please follow IL law and uphold policies that treat all students with dignity and respect. As a reminder, this is a public school, not a religious school. No religion, regardless of how popular, should drive public policy. Public policy should be informed by facts.

I live in GA now, but I am from Waterloo and still have lots of family & friends in the school district.

There’s bigger stuff for kids to worry about than this. They’re just letting their parents views shape their own.

The fact that the Waterloo school board is even entertaining the idea of violating basic Human Rights is disturbing. It really shows that the community you live in does NOT have your back. This is disheartening as a former Waterloo resident. The town is so welcoming and beautiful, but it’s very ugly seeing the school board turn a blind eye to the serious issues of the students they’re meant to protect and teach. Waterloo needs to do better.

This seems like common sense. We don’t get to pick what other laws we abide by, why this one?

While I don’t live in this area, I frequent Waterloo and have a significant group of peers in the area. I truly believe in this petition for the local people I support.

I went to hs there. Kids need to have a safe bathroom they can use regardless of gender orientation.

I believe the most recent bathroom policy established by WCUD #5 is sufficient in protecting trans rights while also being understanding to the public’s privacy and harassment concerns. I do not believe the policy should be more strict. I also do not think the policy should be more lenient.

I no longer live in Waterloo, but I have family that does. I attended both WJHS and WHS, and I want to help ensure the safety and inclusivity of ALL students.

We are currently moving so my children can attend Waterloo school because we have had issues with bullying in their current school with no help
