Our governments have never cared about petitions.....hope this works as no beach should be private by law.

I am a Jamaican living aboard. I have never visited Winnifred Beach, but I would like to have the option to do so.

you cant block jamaicans from accessing the beaches and natural features of the country.. the government is selling out jamaica and its making the country into a hell.. how can we be jamaicans if we cant even get to experience our own country...

Winnifred beach is the best beach in portland and it would be a crying shame if the gov. sell it out and the hometers have nowhere to go.We want to be able to come to Ja. with family and friends to enjoy this beach. Just last Tues. I went to my doctor and he was asking where in Ja. should he visit and I am here in Canada selling Portie along with it's beautiful beach.

I loved this beach as a child in Jamaica..Please do not make everything privatized---I use to walk by the coastline and believe how amazing it was to have access to all beaches.. …If Jamaica continues to subdivide land into the have and have nots--there becomes more and more barriers between people that should not exist…This Beach should continue to exist with this spirit…and to inspire other beaches to do the same.

It must be left local. Owned and run by the community for years so all (those who can and those who can't afford to pay go into other well known beaches) can enjoy it. It's a shame it has come to this. Build Jamaica yes, but for whom to benefit? Emm
