A 6:45am bus pick up and 7:20am start time for Kindergarten and up is far too early for little ones.

Great information, appreciated the comprehensive look into the issue with comparisons to other west metro districts as well as the research into early start times for elementary school. 7:20 Yikes! Where's the safety and educational concern for our elementary children.

While we can all adapt to earlier to-bed/early-to-rise schedules, the affect on after school activities (sports or academic) will be significant. Parents will either pull their children from such activities or have tired children resulting in negative classroom behavior. Not to mention working parents will see even less of their chikdren. Very sad. I would be in favor to start time after 8am. 7:20 is riduculous, especially considering our climate. May be ok in the south, but not in the cold, dark, winter months. Would ideally prefer to maintain status quo, at least until we can come to an agreement. I believe there's a very good reason the private schools in the area start around 9:00!

Let's not sacrifice the little kids for the big ones, surely we an find more buses to take the older kids later.
