Made my first trip to Chicago (from Connecticut) just to see Wax Trax - the music that the label put out was such a great part of my formative teen years and taste in music. It made for an amazing time in Chicago and a memory I will always cherish.

WAX TRAX! is no less deserving as an historic cultural landmark than any other music-related site in the US. Even though I was too young to visit in the heyday, what I listened to in my youth was shaped by many of the label's seminal bands. Let us preserve the history of the record shop, the label, the Chicago subculture, and industrial music as a whole!

The bands that came out of WAX TRAX! are still incredibly influential. It means something to music and the world to preserve where these sounds came from. Without the freedom that WAX TRAX! gave artists, and without the community that it fostered, these bands and music as we know it today, might not exist.
