I loved buying vinyl at this store. I clearly recall buying doubles of Front 242 - Headhunter when it came out. Showed my friends what I bought when I got home, then drove back to the store with them to buy more copies.

Wax Trax! Records is an important part of America music history! Groundbreaking for so many reasons: gay owned business, promoting and distributing early industrial, alternative and leftfield bands, gathering places for like-minded individuals, etc. Please put the building on the official historical places registry.

Please designated 2449 N. Lincoln Ave as a historical landmark! This building housed one of the most important record labels in music history and should be preserved. The building also is architecturally significant and should be preserved for that reason as well.

Wax Trax is a massive part of the cultural history of Chicago and is known worldwide. It took this city decades to recognize the indigenous sounds of Chicago with House Music. Don’t screw this up with WaxTrax. Both musical styles are intertwined with their history and sounds, and have just as much a worldwide impact as another indigenous Chicago sound: the Blues.

This is a historic landmark, please protect it! I grew up in Central Illinois and family would drive me up to the Wax Trax Lincoln Avenue location at least once a month. I then drove up here on my own almost every weekend during high school and college. I am still active with Wax Trax events in Chicago, to this day. I moved to Chicago 20 years ago and even bought a home on W Altgeld Street just to walk by that location on Lincoln Avenue all the time. I still snap pictures of the buildings outside as the detail that has gone into the building is incredible. I have taken my nephew and took our pics in front of the original Wax Trax building just to show the other Wax Trax fans that I am educating those that are too young to remember Wax Trax records store AND label. Please protect this 2449 N Lincoln Avenue as a landmark.
