Dear Chicago,
For late '80s-'90s club kids &
Industrial music fans there was no life without
Wax Trax! The music scene swirling around the label/store was the seminal cultural hub of our
lives for many years. My friends and I made
devout pilgrimages from across the Lake over in Michigan to shop there and go to concerts.
Wax Trax! was the cornerstone of the
alternative set. Alternative kids from all over the midwest were so proud of the WT
contribution to the scene because it was
OURS. Others had London, LA, NYC, but we had Wax Trax! It shaped music in a powerful way, with Ministry as the beloved
backbone.
Please preserve this pivotal landmark so we can brong our kids there and pay homage for eternity!
Rock on, Chicago.

Wax Trax, was my ground zero as a teenager. Every time I walked through that tall heavy black door I was transported to Europe. Jim Nash was instrumental in turning me on the best and still timeless releases each week.

I can't say enough how much Wax Trax! Meant to me in my impressionable youth. It definitely was a life changing experience the first time I visited the shop from Indianapolis. So thank you!
