In a time when the medium still mattered, Wax Trax was as much a part of the music as the concerts. Few commercial spaces are associated with so much love and so many memories.

Wax Trax records was extremely influential to me and my friends at the labels height. They introduced the world to a genre of music that was up and coming and really put Chicago on the map.

WAX TRAX! RECORDS was instrumental to bring the edge of new and innovative music that influenced the next generation of musicians and listeners alike to Chicago and beyond. This building for this reason alone should get the landmark status akin to Sun Records building in Memphis.

We have lost so many buildings all over this nation that held so much history. Wax Trax must be landmarked for all the greatness it brought to so many lives!

Wax Trax! was the first record label I followed like I would a band. If THEY said it was good, I believed ‘em! And that’s one way my mind was opened to a rich tapestry of sound. I treasure them as an institution, as should the great city of Chicago.

My all time favorite record store. Really helped expand my musical horizons as a young guy back in the early 80s. Still own the vinyl I purchased there.

This location of WAXX TRACKS is embedded in Rock N Roll history & culture & by Chicago designating the original storefront landmark status such a designation would be a credit to Chicago's history & culture. I'm all for it!
