My husband and I both grew up in Chicago and Wax Trax was part of my childhood and teenage years. Fond memories and we would love to see it become a historic landmark.

I believe there is cultural significance. It was a record store that turned out to draw people from all over bringing new culture & music genres to Chicago. This then influenced the live music scene.

I had to move away from Chicago years ago, but WaxTrax is still an iconic location in my memory map of the city I grew up in. An amazing place that should not be lost to time.

We need pioneers like these gentleman who promoted a genre that was not mainstream. This diversity is what makes us a great society. Or it was in this time period. The history in this building and those who took the chance on being different from norm needs to be recognized and preserved! Not my favorite kind of music but that is why I support this petition diversity is a fact of life! It cannot be erased! Bless Jim and Dannie for paving the road for the ones to come after them!
