Wax Trax is of profound importance that in part shaped my younger teenage years with discoveries of local and international music. In the 80’s and 90’s, this store was a safe space for me and my friends while we explored the countless inventory of music, art, and conversations with like minded people. This store is a part of Chicago history that I fondly reminisce about to others.

Wax Trax has influenced generations of music lovers. The aesthetics, the culture, the energy put forth by this group of people changed my life! This building is the alpha vortex of a movement that persists today. It’s a cultural phenomenon and should be recognized as such!

2449 Lincoln Ave is very much a landmark. The American contribution to a style of music that was still in it's infancy and is still VERY much listened to to this day was incubated in this building and it very much so needs to be recognized.
