Unfortunately the department did not listen to our pleas and Dr. Watkins has since taken new employment. He is now Professor and Coordinator of the Cultural and Historic Preservation program at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island. It is our loss and Salve's gain.

The department continues to operate in silence despite the concerns raised by this community. We remain committed to documenting the value of the Public History program while examining all available paths forward.

The momentum generated by this collective effort serves as a testament to the value of the Public History program. It is encouraging to witness such widespread recognition of the impact Dr. Watkins has had on our academic community.

Dr. Watkins is the reason I chose this program. He actually cares about us and knows his stuff. This is such a huge mistake by the dept.
Total garbage. ASU is losing a legend here. Everyone knows the program is only as good as he makes it.

So upset about this. He helped me so much with my internship. Really unhappy with how the university is handling this.
