70 million bottles of water are consumed in the U.S. each day. Only 28% are recycled. Nearly 60 billion pounds of plastic are in the municipal solid waste stream. Why are we paying for these plastic water bottles when all water in the USA is clean drinking water? If you don't like the taste, filtered reusable water bottles work great! That is why we are trying to make the UNCC campus water bottle free. There are water bottle refill stations in the Student Union and more to come around campus. This will save students money by only having to buy one water bottle and refill it over and over for free! It also looks good for UNCC to become a "green" campus. And most importantly it helps our earth and will help to keep it clean and beautiful for future generations to come! SO MAKE UNCC WATER BOTTLE FREE!!
