Students at Harrison County schools in West Virginia are sick and tired of the same old nasty tasting milk. We are making a petition to bring bottles of water into the cafeteria as well. Schools sell water, yes. For $1.25 which is ridiculously over priced. Water fountains are not properly maintained or kept clean at all. People spit snuff in them. They put their lips on them. Some even have mold. I think if we brought bottles of water into the cafeteria it'd be a healthy & good idea.

I havent been in school since 2009 and i know alot has changed but clearly the nasty milk and water fountains have not! Let them have bottled water if they want it!
This would be a great idea. I am tired of the same old nasty stuff. Also the snuff spit and mold is disgusting and unsanitary.
I agree with the above talked about reason but I also have to bring to lite a different argument. As a person who get a lot of sinus infections I find in I drink milk it makes the drainage worse and often leads to get sick at my stomach.
They complain about us not eating and drinking heathly they have a changed lunch menus and policy's on lunch so we can start eating and drinking healthier but a simple bottle of water can change a whole bunch of problems
It is true that water fountains are not maintained as they should be. And selling water for $1.25 is really overpriced. I think bringing water bottles would be a great way to bring clean water to the students.
Lets have Clean FREE Water...This isn't a Third World Country

I am on the Harrison County Board of Education and this is the first I have heard of this petition. I do agree with your concerns and certainly will discuss with the Superintendent and other board members. Glad I saw this, we all appreciate your concerns for our kids and you have made very important points.
