Water for California and the Central Valley

This is shocking. Me, being a Dutchman, can 't believe this.

"Dead Harvest" just goes to show how low OUR government has sunk! I thought OUR government is supposed to be "FOR THE PEOPLE". It looks more like "special interests" to me. I think it is sad that OUR government is making farmers jump through so many hoops. Yet, OUR government is importing foods from foreign countries where we don't know what kinds of pesticides are used, and what kind of sanitary/non-sanitary conditions are used! Shameful.

If you don't like the food produced here in the central valley. Do you think you will like food produced in China better?

We must save the Central Valley for our kids, grandkids, and beyond. Thank you for all you are doing!! We must replace political correctness with common sense solutions

We can have both the fish and agriculture. Noting how the South and Midwest are flooding, pump the excess water from those burgeoning rivers into the Colorado River. If distributed correctly around California, the markedly extra flow will take care of all the water needs. Easy. Done.

The water waste needs to stop. Human lives and livelihoods matter more than a fish.

It is true that farmers are loosing the water rights. It is also true that water is being routed to protect the smelt but the real problem is builders . Homes are built by the hundreds on our farmland. the new homeowners use far more water than any farm does and delta smelt.

Common sense should always prevail over pseudo science, and corrupt government agencies.

Put people before fish!

There can be a balance, Please help restore the valley and eliminate the turbulent downfall due to the existing sanctions in this region.

Agricultural needs should surpasse any other water uses and commonsense should prevail. It's important to protect our wildlife but the concerns and timing of water use should be considered at each season and year and not set in stone

Policies whether environmental or not, should have to show dramatic results when their very existence ruins an economy in a significant portion of a state. These policies are doing just that and have produced zero results.

The foundation of a strong country is its constituent's ability to provide for themselves. Why would anyone who truly loves their country think its a good idea to debilitate it and bring it to it's knees by destroying its ability to produce food for itself? That is essentially what is being done ... and there are only two answers to the above question ... the politician is corrupt or ... they don't love their country (they actually harbor contempt). In either instance I think any politician not in support of providing the Central Valley the water it needs to produce agriculture products for this country should be prosecuted for treason.

It is imperative that we protect our food supply. We cannot tolerate a shortage of water to the Central Valley Farms that feed our nation. While we might import crude oil or other things, we cannot become dependent on imported our food!

This is imperative to our country's economy to resolve these allocation and storage issues in California. Especially since this is the most fruitful agricultural area in the United States. Saving one species rather than helping the economy and families is unacceptable!

People have to realize that farming affects all of us here in the valley, almost all industry has moved out and know with the water shortage it's hurting what job's we have left. Protect our water now.

We need to put the needs of humans above the needs of a bait fish. It is important to keep the farming community working to ensure that no one goes hungry. Some of the crops grown in the Central Valley are not grown anywhere else, so we need to ensure that these crops do not become extinct.
