Dear Chancellor Martin

We are Washington University graduates concerned about the compact from the Administration. We believe that the compact puts restrictions on values and viewpoints that should not be dictated by a federal administration. We urge you to reject this “offer”, as other leading universities have already done.

As alums and donors we have entrusted in WashU to sustain the ethical foundations we learned while there. The compact does not reflect our University’s 172 year heritage. We are also concerned that the terms may change over time further compromising our ethical values.

We sincerely hope you will reject this “offer” so we can in good conscience continue to support Washington University in St. Louis.
