Our Liberty Youth Program is in it's 2nd year and we've gone from about 50 boys to 70 boys in only one year.

As a tax paying parent in Washington State I find it crazy that lacrosse isn't an official school sport. Please end the insanity.

When the WIAA finally gets around to accepting lacrosse as a Varsity Sport, will it be too late? Lacrosse has built it's own modern and effective structure and administration. School districts such as Bellevue and M.I. have lax as a Varsity sport without the WIAA. Since budgets are shrinking for high school athletics the old WIAA structure and burden is becoming ineffective at adopting change, clinging to it's tournament income from football like a survivor to a sinking ship. Long time Spring sports are suffering and it's easy to blame lacrosse. Lacrosse may be an easy scapegoat to withering programs, but we know it is not the only reason. Spring sports are in decline. It's a national trend. Perhaps the WHSBLA is the organization of the future and the WIAA an organization of the past. Maybe we should ask football to join us instead.

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the US. It is allowing a growing number of PNW students to attend college as student athletes. It is time to support this amazing sport as a WIAA sport.
