In the Name of the Most High
\"And who is more unjust than he who prevents (men) from the masjids of Allah, that His name should be remembered in them, and strives to ruin them (As for) these, it was not proper for them that they should have entered them except in fear; they shall meet with disgrace in this world, and they shall have great chastisement in the hereafter.\" (Quran, 2:114)
We, the undersigned, do hereby assert that, as members of the community of the greater Washington metropolitan area, we absolutely oppose the decision of the Islamic Education Center’s leadership to engage the services of legal council against another Muslim of the community to bar them from attending the masjid. We find such behavior to be un-Islamic and against the guidelines of Quran. We heartily condemn this action and demand the immediate and complete reversal of such. The Holy Prophet had garbage dumped upon his blessed head time after time, and yet he went to visit the offender when he learned that she had fallen ill. How far is this attitude from that of the IEC leadership when a difference of opinion is encountered The IEC has set for itself the goal of Islamic education, yet it does not uphold the lofty standards of Islam in a time of trial.
We seek refuge in the Plan of Allah, the Most High and make it known that our intention is to speak the Truth and establish Justice, based on the Commandments of Quran. We also bear witness to Allah\'s promise that He will not change the condition of a people until they change themselves.
Seeing this much energy behind the cause is honestly overwhelming because it really shows how many of us are deeply hurt by this shift away from the basic mercy we expect at the center. I never imagined so many people would step up to say that the gates of the masjid belong to everyone regardless of these petty legal disputes that have no place in our community.

So much for being a community center. Pretty sad that it has come to this level of disrespect and aggressive tactics.

This is completely wrong. A masjid is a house of Allah and nobody has the right to ban a muslim from entering. fix this now.

How can you turn someone away from prayer? This goes against everything we were taught. Shameful behavior.

Heartbroken seeing this happening at our local center. We need unity not lawyers and lawsuits against our own brothers and sisters.

The leadership needs to reflect on the sunnah instead of acting like corporate bosses. Very disappointed.
