many children pass by this possible facility to and from school not to mention the parks near by. I'm not labeling all homeless and chemical dependent people aggressive, but from recent events of an assault that put someone in the hospital - I vote no

I am against the possibility of a homeless shelter on Washington St. in Peekskill.

My in laws live on Welcher Avenue so we spend a lot of time there.

We don't want this homeless shelter be built right into the residential area.

We already have a homeless shelter. Enlarge the current shelter to help more people, not expand into another area.

Definitely against it. I do not support the idea of a shelter right in the middle of the City of Peekskill. Many people walk to the train station late in the evening coming home from work, not safe for people.

As a prior member of emergency service , I have seen first hand what can happen and what does happen at the homeless shelter. Yes a homeless shelter is needed but I question the location.why subject patrons of the shelter to a residential area, when they may need to stay away from that type of area.

This proposed location is in the midst of a very family-focused residential neighborhood, right along the walk from the train to Blue Mountain Reservation. It would not only hurt the neighborhood, it will hurt our whole city to have this be the face our visitors see as they come to visit and hike in Peekskill, the "Gateway to the Hudson Valley". Aside from its impact on the surrounding area, this will be a huge step backwards for our city as a whole right as we're finally starting to be seen as a destination instead of a place to avoid. Yes, we need to be compassionate to these folks and work to help them get back on their feet, but it can't be at such an expense to the city.

The shelter sides not belong in a residential neighborhood

A homeless shelter does not belong in a residential neighborhood. My suggestion since there already is a shelter in Peekskill is to make improvements and additions on the existing Jan Peek Shelter.

I am the business owner next door and will share the driveway with the residents and the kitchen/deliveries they intend of having there. There is no room for this facility there is no parking for anyone workers or the people coming to the art events something like this will destroy the peaceful and safe neighborhood that it now is.

Although I do agree that a shelter is necessary in Peekskill, I strongly disagree with placing the shelter in the middle of a residential neighborhood! This location’s proximity to two elementary schools should be a major concern for the students parents and our community at large.

Has this been announced publicly. This is the first time I’m hearing of this Too close to schools
