This is crazy! What happened to school educational but also fun and exciting. These were the kind sir things we looked forward too. As long as they aren't wearing g a bikini on Hawaiian day, or something to provocative, what's the big deal?

No one knows the full story here, but I have only heard negative comments of this Mrs. Marcus from anyone I talk to about Washington High. My son will be attending this school in 9 years. I hope that by then there is a leader in place that promotes a happy learning environment.

I experienced high school at Jefferson and at Washington. I felt more like a prisoner that a student. I can not recall even having a spirit week at Washington for our homecoming game. Also the rules that were in place some were almost in possible to follow expecally the dress code. Also we weren't even allowed to hug a friend we could only hold hands! The only team that ever mattered at washington was the cheerleading team ! So I am for this 100% let them have a spirit week

I support this movement 100%. This school definitely lacks school spirit and makes me regret leaving private school to attend public school. The most prevalent issue at Washington is how we are expected to follow a strict list of rules and act like adults, yet we are treated like children. High school is the perfect time to find yourself and learn who you are through the support and influence of your peers. It is incredibly hard at this school to make a statement and be yourself which is exactly why this movement is what we need. If anything, in high school, we should learn to stand up for what we believe to be right. If we are shamed by our principal for doing so then that just magnifies the issue we are trying to overcome!

When I was in school we had spirit week & as long as we followed the rules the faculty had no problems with it, some of them even joined in & dressed like the students which gave the students more pride in our school.

I may not be a student of whs or a former student but students shouldn't be limited by what they want to wear as long as it stays in the same schools dress code. If spirit week is needed/wanted by the school then students should do have it.

Kids need to be able to have fun as the school year is ending. If there not violating the dress code what's the big deal about it

I feel rules should be followed. But I do agree that kids should be able to express themselves in an apropriate manner. As long as this was planned to show school spirit I see nothing wrong with it.
