Final supporters
Ms. Corwen, the Principal at Warner Avenue Elementary School, has put in for a transfer and officially delivered a statement to the parents and the PTO that she does not intend to return to Warner next year.
We the undersigned would like to petition the LAUSD to immediately "fly" the open Principal Position on the LAUSD website to allow Warner to immediately form a principal selection committee (comprised of teachers and parent representatives) and actively recruit a principal for Warner for the 2015-2016 school year.
The Principal we hope to recruit will be a collaborative leader with a strong vision for academic excellence who has a solid understanding of the Common Core State Standards, a passion for integrating the arts and technology into the curriculum, and a proven track record as a strong community builder among teachers, staff, and parents.

I have submitted a formal request for an open recruitment window to the LAUSD district office. We are currently waiting for a response regarding the timeline for forming the selection committee. I will post the official communication from the district as soon as it arrives.

GET IT DONE. We want a say in who leads our school.
Warner needs stability. The kids deserve a principal who is going to be there for the long haul.
The arts program is the reason we chose this school. Whoever replaces her better keep that up or we are in trouble.
Ms. Corwen did so much for our kids. We really need someone just as strong to step in before the next school year starts. LAUSD needs to get moving on this.
We need a leader who actually listens to the teachers. Please get this posted asap so we can find the right person for Warner.
