
Warmane - petition to ban Multiboxing from Wintergrasp


What is multiboxing?
Multiboxing
in WoW is a situation in which one person controls a group of
characters which react to his inputs from main, leading character.
Multiboxing doesn't usually have a restriction in case of amout of
characters controls, on Warmane though we can only see a party-size multiboxing which is 5 characters at once.
Why is multiboxing problematic?
In pve play,
multiboxing doesn't pose many threats other than being problematic for
economy. I won't get into details of this since petition is about banning multiboxing for Wintergrasp event.
In pvp multiboxing creates balance problems - some of those include:
- multiboxers being able to easily capture points of interests in Wintergrasp as groups not included in for example premade raids.
This can create a situation in which faction can make a premade raid
consisting of 40 people but can have up to 45 (if 1 multiboxer is
present). This one person can coordinate 5 characters without the need
of communication, disagreement or lack of knowledge. In opposition to
randomly chosen group of 5 people which might lack those coordination
skills.

well geared resilience multiboxer can take out a small group of well
skilled and geared pvp'ers just because of own damage output For
example: Multiboxer consisting of 5 Death Knights, with average endgame
gear (~5000gs) can deal up to 2000 frost damage (after using Deathchill) + put on 5 DOT effects of frost fever (which in summary deals 2500 damage per tick for next 20 seconds ~15000 damage) - overall estimation gives us a number of around 17000 damage if DOTS are not dispelled. Additionally damage is dealt to every enemy in the vicinity of 10 yards (20 yards if Icy Reach is chosen as talent). This can be done by using only one ability which has a cooldown of 8 seconds - Howling Blast. Before summary I'd also like to point out the health brackets of every armor class between low and high gearscore.
Cloth: 15000 - 25000
Leather: 22000 - 35000
Mail: 25000 - 38000
Plate 30000 - 40000
Considering the beforementioned numbers we can see the problematic nature of multiboxer damage in pvp.I'd also like to remind that this operation was concluded only for one ability, not including any other.

time at the beginning of round (20 seconds before start) is usually
spent by multiboxers on slowing players down or killing them, that feat
can be achieved without any other players participating, rest of players
can further their chances of winning during that time by for exaple destroying cannons on Wintergrasp fortress. After joining in last seconds on the ground there is still leftoverDesecration and Death and Decay which stacked can cause high amount damage or slowdown if spread properly.
- amount of multiboxers present in Wintergrasp event - current amount of visiting multiboxers is 5 characters, most on horde side, yet one on Alliance. That creates fake traffic for event, adding overall 25 "people" which destabilises the number ratio for both sides. Additionally this encourages creation of more multiboxer characters.
Summary and Call to Action
In
summary, multiboxing in PvP, particularly in the Wintergrasp event,
creates significant balance issues and disrupts fair gameplay. To
