We are deeply shocked with this heartbreaking news that Adv. Palash Kumar Roy of Panchagarh was burnt to death while he was under the custody in jail. The jail authority allowed the victims' opponents to enter in jail who had thrown chemicals and then put the fire on his body. It is hard to believe that this type of tremendous violation of human rights in other words furious and barbaric inhuman act on the religious minority could be happened in independent Bangladesh while the Awami League and the daughter of Bangabandhu in power who claimed to be a secular government. However, we urge the Bangladesh government to form a judicial inquiry committee to investigate the matter and immediately arrest all those culprits who were involved and demanding exemplary punishment including the compensation to the victims family.
