The fine is $330 per dog if you get caught taking your dog to Wanda Beach outside the limited hours of:
"Dogs are allowed on the beach, either on or off a lead, Monday to Friday (incl. Monday morning and Friday evening):
before 8.30am and after 7.00pm during daylight saving
before 8.30am and after 4.30pm during non-daylight saving.
Dogs are not allowed:
on the beach on Saturdays, Sundays or any public holidays.
on the dunes or north of the 4-wheel drive park." (www.sutherland.nsw.gov.au/ssc/home.nsf)
It's confusing and hard for those with families, fullt-time work and commitments to make it during the hours listed above. As responsible dog owners we should be allowed to use the beach at anytime. We are running out of places we can take our dogs. Please sign the petition. We will send it to the Sutherland Council and ask them to please hear the voices of the community who would love to use the beach to take our dogs and families together.
This petition is for all dog owners who want freedom to take their dog to the beach. Let's unite together and make this happen.
The momentum behind this petition highlights how many of us struggle to balance our work schedules with the current restrictions at Wanda Beach. This collective interest confirms that the council must revisit these rigid time constraints to better serve our local community.

$330 is absolutely insane for just walking a dog on the sand. Council needs to get their priorities straight and stop targeting local families.

Living here my whole life and it keeps getting harder to actually enjoy the beach with my pup. Open it up already!

The restrictions are ridiculous. I finish work at 5 and miss out completely. Why cant we just take them on weekends? It makes no sense
