Some WA Library Technicians are building a case through the Public Sector Union (CPSU/CSA) to have Advanced Skills Recognition built into a new pay scale for Library Technicians. The idea is that it would be a merit based level/tier that introduces a payscale between the government Levels 2 & 3, as most Library Technicians cannot progress beyond the Level 2.4 pay scale. The current Level 2 would be the Level 2 Grade 1, and a new level would be Level 2 Grade 2. Progressing from Grade 1 to Grade 2 would be based on Length of Service, Advanced Skills, Specialised Training, and Personal Skills.  Do you support such an action for an enhanced career path for Library Technicians in Western Australia?
