I feel this is something that should be kept available, now and for our future students!

Early exposure is so important for language development. Two years delay would be sad to see.

As a busdriver of FI children to Walsh Public School these changes if allowed to happen could also effect the jobs of several busdrivers. I notice the benefit of starting FI in Jk listening to the children singing or reading in french in such a short period of time. Delaying the start of the program would surely make a difference.

This is a great program and I've been so proud that our community has participated. I would love to be able to send BOTH my children to French Immersion, at WALSH, starting in JK!

This is a program the public wants. Why would you every try to change something that has progressively become very successful? You need to cast your nets wider to entice French speaking teachers to come to this awesome area in southern Ontario to teach. The success of this program should have been thought about years ago, someone was not thinking ahead and because of that we may see the demise of this wonderful program. These young minds need to start speaking French as young as possible for their future success. There are all kinds of evedence based studies done indicating the younger a person is introduced to a second language the more successful they will become in speaking and writing that language. I'm really questioning the people in charge of our education system making these not so smart decisions.

It would be a terrible thing to phase out the kindergarten french immersion classes. My youngest of 5 children has been in the French class at Walsh since JK and I am amazed at what it has accomplished. At first I was worried she would fall behind in English but she is actually able to read and write in English better than her siblings could at the same age! I feel it is due to the fact that she was introduced to a new language early on. I wish all my children had this opportunity. Children need to start this program as young as possible!!! Please don't phase out the kindergarten classes. Thank you.

Considering that French is an official language of Canada, it is a child's right, not a privilege, to learn it.

I have 2 children that started French immersion in kindergarden. I have watch as their brains, like sponges, have just absorbed the French at this great age. It is devistating that the school board feels that the best way to save money is to take this away. Shame on you!

Please dont close the french immersion for the Walsh Kindergarden, my grandchildren live in France Europe and its wonderful that I go and that a 2 year old and 4 year old are completely bi lingual ... helps that one of the grandparents doesnt speak english and other no french, the 4 year old translates for us and we have a wonderful relationship because of this.. Great for kids to learn so young. Kind regards, Dot

I believe that all should have a chance to improve their knowledge and, I so wish I had the chance to learn our second language ,which is best at the very begining of school.Thank you.

My daughter has learnt so much in just jk alone. Why take away something that is working so well on the young minds of tomorrow d

Our school needs to be considered separate from those in the city of Brantford and Brant County. The population challenges are unique to each area and should not be solved by painting all FI schools wifi the same brush.

Unfair for a child to start a school for jk/ sk then have to switch for grade 1. The anxiety for some having to make new friends, new building, etc is going to be very overwhelming! My daughter has been in French immersion in Walsh since jk and has learned so much, love the program!
