The post office finally acknowledged that Walnut Creek belongs to Indian Land. This long process exhausted me but seeing our correct location officially recognized makes the struggle worth it. Keep checking your mail and billing addresses to ensure they stick to the update.

Walnut Creek is part of Indian Land, an unincorporated area within Lancaster County, SC. Our zip code is based on the post office that services us which is Lancaster City 29720. Lancaster City is 20 miles south of Walnut Creek. There residents of Walnut Creek purchased a home in Indian Land and once move in, realize real issues surrounding where we live vs our zip code. These issues include but are not limited to:
Possible higher insurance rates since rates are based on Zip.
Trouble locating service providers because based on Zip Code, we appear to be 20 miles further south than we actually are.
Trouble with job recruitment in Charlotte as we appear out of territory for some employers to consider us for employment.
Food deliveries to our homes when we order take out, despite some of our backyards being Waxhaw, there are restaurants in Waxhaw that will not deliver to us.
Real estate resale values and attracting buyers. When you search the average price of a home in 29720 vs 29707, the difference is tremendous.
These are just a few of the reasons people have mentioned.
The residents of Walnut Creek are part of Indian Land and want to be recognized as such!

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you share the frustration of living in a place that the map refuses to acknowledge correctly. It is heavy work to keep pushing against these bureaucratic lines but knowing you are behind me makes the exhaustion worth it.

Bought here thinking it was Indian Land and my insurance is way higher than it should be. Fix this please!
This really hurts home values compared to the rest of the neighborhood. We are Indian Land.
Sick of telling delivery drivers to put the wrong city in their gps just so they can actually find my front door.
Walnut Creek is a huge community with a large voting population. It is part of Indian Land.
Many problems with deliveries and commercial companies being able to find us because they THINK we are 20 miles away.
Yes we are in Indian Land and should be recognized as such. Thank You
