Born & grew up in Huntsville. I always appreciated and enjoyed the history of the place. And that's just the point: historical relics are part of the record and reminder of that history. Those who obscure history obscure our reference points and landmarks for who we are and why the world is the way it is. It's a fool's errand to suppose to "fix" history by deleting it! And in doing so, not only do we lose the examples of what not to do, but also of what was wonderful and great. The history delitists have even torn down statues of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglas, and those who participated with The Underground Railroad. What abject idiocy! Blind rage and its byproduct are never worth much. Defend the heritage of all: The record of history as it happened, and not how the self righteous wish it had happened.

Tearing down statues doesnt change history. It's pointless and destructive.

History is for us to learn from...its not just for one person or another..its for us all a part of us all. Just because you decide not to acknowledge it doesn't erase it from history.
