I admire the boldness of the proposed changes. There are some very interesting things in there. But it is mostly troubling, shortsighted, and bullying. I strongly oppose the new contract and urge that it go through a fair and deliberate revision into something that will let us all survive and thrive.

Although my AEA membership is one of Inactive Status at the this time, in the past I have performed in 99 seat houses. I've also attended many fine pieces of theatre throughout the years. I can't imagine Los Angeles without the 99 seat plan. We would lose opportunities to create and witness many wonderful pieces of theatre that are essential to the human experience!

Please make sure you all write EVERY member of the National Council of AEA.

This petition is fine, it what is really important is that people e mail every member of AEA Council and tell them how you feel about this proposal. I would include the officers as well, and I would suggest that it is wise to do it in a firm but polite way. We want council member's to vote with us. Consequently it does us little good to be rude, but great good to be persuasive and strong.

I have been an Equity member for 19 years, and in LA for 18. If this passes, I will have no choice but to quit Equity and negotiate terms on my own, in order to keep doing the kind of work I love.

Member of AEA for over 30 years. I've worked AEA houses all over the country, including New York where I earned my card. I oppose AEA's changes to the Los Angeles 99-Seat Plan, and the "Proposed Opportunities for LA Membership." I will vote NO.

I am a long time member of Actors Equity and am against the unions choice of geeting rid of the 99 seat plan In LA....as and actor, I have had the beauty of playing extraordinary roles inluding doing "Rose Tattoo" at the Beverly Hills Theater in 1978-79 for Tennessee Williams himself...I am a long time member of The Fountain Theater and as an actor been able to play roles like Maria Callas in Master Class that would have been unavible to me otherwise...Don't break something that has been so valuable to the LA Actor and audience!

I'm a SAG-AFTRA actor. AEA please listen to your members and do not make these drastic changes to the 99-Seat Plan. The three-pronged approach that AEA has laid out is detrimental to Los Angeles actors. SAG-AFTRA has made great strides in understanding the changing climate of the industry. I am sure that AEA's new plan is going in the opposite direction and will not only hurt actors but theatre in general, which is already hanging by a thread.

I'm an equity member who has worked the 99 seat agreement a few times and I don't see this proposal as any kind of solution. It goes after the very companies it's ostensibly intended to better. I call bullish*t.

I am an Equity member and I oppose these measures. Rob Nagle in his comments above correctly labelled this as a "wither and die" plan which will kill many fantastically creative theater companies and the acting community at large. Don't be the Union that destroys creative theater.

The current plan proposed is directly counter to all the comments made at the recent Equity information gathering meeting. I feel betrayed by my union. I've been a member of AEA decades. I will fight this proposal to my dieing breath. There is middle ground that was clearly ignored. You work for me. Please, remember that. #FireInTheTheatre
