Deklaracija studenata medicine i zaposlenih u zdravstvu
Croatian: Deklaracija studenata medicine povodom obiljezavanja Svjetskog Dana borbe protiv AIDS-a U Hrvatskoj nazalost postoje brojni primjeri krsenja ljudskih prava i stigmatizacije osoba koje zive s HIV-om. English: Medical students' declaration on HIV and AIDS related to the World AIDS Day Unfortunately, today there are many examples of human rights violations in people living with HIV. The most common of many is the example of people living with HIV not having the same access to health care services as other people, because often health workers deny them their right to health protection. This is just an example. Slander, betrayal of confidential information, degradation,... Human rights violations in people living with HIV are being repeated by physicians and other health workers. Most often the reason for that is ignorance and lack of information. Today, it is easier than ever to obtain information on the ways of HIV transmission. We, the students of medicine, are ready to be the champions of change in our future profession and society altogether. We are ready to commit to pose throughout our careers as the protectors of human rights of the people living with and people especially vulnerable to HIV infection. We will do this by continuously educating ourselves and the others on the ways of HIV transmission, prevention of HIV infection and tackling stigma around people living with HIV, we will reinforce confidentiality and access to information related to HIV as well as on informed consent.
