Small businesses in the state of Washington have been forced to shut down by Governor
Inslee. The governor has passed a new spending bill to give employees extra unemployment
benefits. While this is a needed step during this shutdown, no support whatsoever has been
offered to businesses forced to shut down. Furthermore, asking those very businesses to pay
the unemployment tax and paid sick leave to employees while their revenue streams have been
cut off is downright catastrophic to our businesses and the economy. This page was created to
start a petition for WA State business owners demanding that the governor explain how the
state will compensate businesses that are forced to shut down for their losses. It also represents
a united commitment by business owners to stop paying state excise tax and B&O tax until such
compensation is designated. If you are a business owner in WA State, stand up for yourself and

I have a dance studio that has shut down. Zero revenue coming in, but I am working on evolving my business practice. Challenging, yet opportunistic times. Besides financial assistance, maybe the government can assist and support our business adjustments. Keep brainstorming and evolving!
My wife and I own two small businesses. These closures are definitely hurting ample small business owners.
Gyms and small business need to stay open just because large corporations get support doesn't mean small businesses do.
call your state representatives, call your local chamber of commerce! Call and email the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) get them behind this before this 14 days turns into months!

The whole hair styling industry are small business. They are shut down not eligible for unemployment and loans. They are mostly single moms who work tirelessly. They need help today.
