I work on truck transportation, drive a car and ride a bike. We all have to share the road safely with each other.

As a person who rides a bike, and as a person who drives a car, I fully understand what it means to be a vulnerable road user.
Cars can be dangerous, and it is our responsibility to operate in a safe and predictable way,

I regularly ride to work 25 miles each way thru Indy, and also ride for recreation. I've had many close calls and a few minor crashes due to drivers. Anything to raise driver awareness would help.

I don't know anyone who seriously bikes who HASN'T been hit...that's what a problem it is.

As a cyclist that was hit and then driven over all I can say is this law is long over due. I've had friends hit running, cycling, and riding on motorcycles and the wreckless drivers all escape with nothing. If I carelessly wave a gun around people would freak out and I'd be charged with wreckless endangerment yet our lawmakers allow drivers to injure and kill without consequence. Our blood is on your hands.

Indiana needs a vulnerable user law to protect our citizens from the increasing number of inattentive and distracted drivers. The penalty should be severe enough to make people understand the seriousness of this type of law,
