The administration has officially filed the request to begin formal conference realignment discussions with the SEC office. We achieved the goal of forcing this institutional priority onto the table. I am now shifting focus to monitoring the public disclosure requirements of the transition.
This is a petition comprised for the sole purpose of advocating Virginia Tech to move to the SEC. By signing this petition, you express your desire to see Virginia Tech move to the SEC for any or all reasons pertinent therein. This petition states that we, the signees, desire to see Virginia Tech in the SEC and that we will use any means within our control, including monetary donations, in order to let our voices be heard. We pledge allegiance to a conference that never wanted us, and still today, despises us. The ACC's intergrity is crumbling, and has reached it's ceiling for what if can offer Virginia Tech. For once, there may be a conference who wants us for what we are as a school and fan base. There is much more to be ventured and gained by joining the SEC, and to dismiss any invitation by them, would be considered short sighted, and that the administration views any future progression at Virginia Tech as inconsequential. Thus, this petition serves as a requisition on our behalf to strongly consider moving to the SEC. Let it be known, that this petition represents Hokies across the nation that want to see Virginia Tech in the SEC, and reach the potential that the SEC offers.
I am currently compiling the data from this petition to prepare a formal briefing for the athletic department. We are analyzing specific revenue projections to demonstrate why a conference transition is the only viable path forward for the long term health of the program.

The current momentum has prompted inquiries from regional sports journalists regarding our proposal. I am finalizing a formal briefing document to deliver to the athletic department administration to ensure this shift remains a priority for their upcoming planning sessions.
