Votes at 16 is an extremely important thing in modern society; people aged 16/17 are mature enough to vote; they're the legal age to buy a lottery ticket, get a job, join the army, have children, it's preposterous that 16/17 year olds are not allowed to vote when they can potentially have so much other responsibility. The British govenment is full of elderly white males, the word 'diversity' is non existant, whoch negatively and oppositely reflects the people of the UK, who re diverse. There has not been a change in voting age since the 1970's, and there are no young voices in government; everybody is old and everyone who votes is currently old, hence a biased government running the country in a biased way. People aged 16/17 do a GCSE in politics and from a recent survey, 87% of young people ARE interested in politics, all of those would vote if they could. Every vote counts and a young people vote can potentially change the government and our country; votes at 16 needs to become a part of democracy.
