The school board caved and officially abandoned their pathetic plans to gut our schools. We successfully stopped these reckless cuts and saved East school from their short-sighted greed. Keep watching them because we are not going anywhere if they try this nonsense again.

The school board thinks they can destroy our neighborhood schools for a pathetic one percent budget cut. We are nearly at 250 signatures so hit the link and force them to look at the damage they are causing.

WE bought our house in the president streets because it was so close to East School. We are already disappointed that LB came in 1,625 in Newsweeks top 2000 schools nationwide when all of the surrounding districts were under the top 500. Closing East School would seal the deal for us to move out of town.
Spending millions to alter the school is absurd. If the bldg is to be used why not use it for students? Utilities will still have to be paid. It makes no sense to close this neighborhood school!
Too little savings for too many transitions. Unless there is an educational benefit to closing the school then not worth it. I am totally against the kids changing schools before 3rd grade
It would be far more prudent to consider taking the $ allocated to the new field construction project at the HS, even if it requires a re-vote. There is already tremendous opposition to that project and I would bet that the greater majority of the community would opt to save East School as the priority if given the choice between the two.
so for $5-$10 a month we are going to increase class size to larger than some of the lowest performing districts on LI? keep East open , for the kids & for the sake of everyone's property value
Don't close the school!!!!!!
let the officials take a paycut. or better yet give out tickets on edwards and broadway to all the illegal UTURNers and RED light blowers!!

Our families have been through enough! We are not even in our home 15 months after Sandy. Please keep the one stable thing in our children's lives...their school!
