Dear Management,

Due to recurring power outages @ Umhlanga Junction (Greenside + Xtn) residences, we are launching this petition as a vote of no confidence in the entire management.

Most students have to bear the tripping of power amidst assessment periods and as a result we are concerned about this recurring issue. We are, however, aware that technicians are working on this matter but we are losing patience because already we have suffered a great loss as a result of poor service.

If it is not the WiFi that we are faced with, it is the electricity, if it is not the electricity, then it is the water (very cold water to be specific) that we have to bear. In fact, there are many downfalls and challenges that we are very much unpleased with.

In essence, we are overpaying for underperformance at Umhlanga Junction and this is not fair for any student residing in your residences.

Therefore, through this petition, we call for your immediate response to our needs as a matter of urgency. We should highlight that if our call for good service delivery is not taken into account, a robust and volatile movement (yet a peaceful protest) shall be launched in your office to show how dissatisfied we are as your students.

Furthermore, UJ and our Student Representative Council (SRC) shall be informed of the prevailing challenges that we are confonted with at Umhlanga Junction if no immediate, but action-based response is given to us before this Friday, 20th August 2021. The exam period will launch soon and if we continue to face the same challenges, our confidence in the entire management shall have totally demolished, meaning we have paid for zero service delivery.

In a nutshell, we are merely asking for a good service at Umhlanga Junction and really that's all!

We hope our complains will be taken into consideration and that an immediate response will be issued out to us convincing us to stay.
