El Rio Community Health Center needs a strong leader who supports quality patient care and the employees of the organization, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our current CEO is more interested in profits, positive media attention and her own political agenda than supporting the organization's employees doing the day-to-day work of a community health center.
This has been a trend in the last 2-3 years but has come to a head in the last year with her administration's refusal to accept any labor contract that doesn't include cuts in PTO and/or pay for employees.
We ask the Board of Directors to protect the mission of El Rio and compel the CEO to negotiate a fair contract for front-line health care employees and put quality patient care first or move to replace her immediately.

I was looking at the screen and realized how far this has moved and honestly I feel kind of shaky about it because people are finally starting to see what we see every single day in the clinic. It is wild that the message is actually resonating this loudly and I just hope the board is paying attention to the sheer volume of frustration growing right here.

It’s sad to say but over the few past months it has been more then obvious that all this lady cares about is money and not patient care. Slowly we are having cuts and this business is going downhill when it used to be one of the best. She will take us to bankruptcy like she took St. Elizabeth’s.
The wage is not comparable to other clinics but at least the PTO made up for it and now they want to take that away? If they do what would be a good reason to work for El Rio?
Plainly said, we don't matter, we have voices but are not heard. Nancy needs to work a week dealing with our beloved patients struggling to maintain our own emotions, put on PPE on a daily basis and where our hats for a month. She needs to feel our struggles and at the end of the day we go back to our families, wondering what the next day is going to hold. She has no idea what being a Frontline worker really is. Where is her integrity and honor.
i remember when i use to say proudly "i help patients working for el rio" its nice to still be able to help people but not when we get payed bare minimum through a pandemic that changes our policies and procedures on a daily basis. its exhausting, its amazing how patient communications makes everyone feel micromanage every time they're reps breathe, its soul crushing.
Nancy has brought many good things to El Rio but unfortunately continues to not negotiate in good faith in key areas affecting employees. Increasing provider work hours in order to maintain f/t benefits, including pay cuts is not the way to appreciate our services or loyalty. Decreasing PTO, especially during a public health crisis, is unthinkable. I think it best to extend the current contract for, at least, one or better yet, two years and re-eval the new norm.
Respect the nurses that run your company, dont steal PTO!
El Rio at one time was a place to be proud to work at, they went out of their way to do everything for their patients, and employees we were family. Now the only thing that matters is money, its all about numbers!! WE DON'T MATTER! Nancy says she fights for Nurses and nursing programs is BS all she fights for is MA's what about programs for LPNs RNs !! Ever wonder why you can't keep LPNs? Rns no growth!! WE DON'T MATTER!! You keep giving more work, more duties, more tasks, asking us to cut off time, see more patients, yet DON'T want to pay more, want to cut PTO, our benefits use to have no deductible, use to be free for employees now we pay normal deductibles. Ask more and more yet take and take.. we don't matter........

What happened to I matter? Because at this point I feel unappreciated as an employee working for El Rio. We should've got hazard pay working through this covid pandemic, with all of our hard word we definitely deserve it, and some!! And now for the ceo to want to take our pto from us! That's totally uncalled for!! At this point I say we vote for a new ceo as well. Someone who's going to care for their employees and not only themselves!!
