We need to do better And be better. Since 1995 one would think that a plan would be in place... we have none nothing just hoping that THE dutch Will save our ass again. We dony deserve to be a country. Time to get back to basics And provide a better infrastructure Health care And education for our people.

The October 31st deadline imposed by Minister Plasterk whereby Hundreds of millions of euros from the Dutch Fund will become available for the reconstruction of St. Maarten ONLY after the government of Prime Minister William Marlin agrees to two these (2) conditions from the Netherlands. First, impose Border Control by the Royal Marechaussee to stop criminality and illegal immigration at the border. Measures in my humble opinion, are long overdo on St. Maarten. And second, the demands that an integrity chamber is established. This institution must have the authority to independently investigate whether our politicians and civil servants stick to the law. Our Prime Minister is having a major problem with this why?
Wait a minute... wasn't "integrity" and transparency part of his political campaign?. So typical a geniune politician, never truly meaning what he said. Integrity by definition is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness, something no-one should have a problem with... unless there's something to hide, of course. According to Prime Minister Marlin; "corrupt or dubious persons do not get in a position of power anymore because of the screening process"... (Oh no, he didn't say that did he???). Minister Marlin states; “St. Maarten has enough institutions, legislation and resources at its disposal". Be mindful Prime Minister Marlin. It has been proven that criminals have indeed successfully managed to pass polygraphs as well. Passing a screening or background check and ensuring that our politicians abide by the law are two entirely DIFFERENT things Prime Minster. So tell us... what's the real issue? Our fate for assistance now lies in the hands of the government of Prime Minister Marlin. This is not a game, people's livelihoods are at stake!!!
