We the undersigned volunteers and youths of Zambia Red cross society that are part of this humanitarian movement have composed this letter to express our dissatisfaction with the current national youth Advisor Mr. Katongo Collins.
This letter is an expression of our “ vote of no confidence “in Mr. Katongo Collins and his ability to run the affairs of Zambia Red cross society and also representing the youth on the national board ,Regionally and internationally , we understand the severity of this decision and did not arrive at it hastily .
Zambia Red cross society national youth executive must be an executive that makes all youths proud to have put in office , national youth Advisor having been the only member sitting in this executive has not been making decisions on collaborative basics with the best interest of our youth volunteers country wide.
Zambia red cross society has not experienced great vision from our outgoing leader Mr. Katongo, volunteers have been underestimated because of the levels of education acquired, their low level acquired skills and have been considered incompetent by Mr. Katongo , in ZRCS we ought to respect and support not forgetting to train and give hope to all our volunteers to allow them fit well in the society and achieve their goals as they give hope to others.
Throughout the past years we as the volunteer youths have had concerns regarding Mr. Katongo’s leadership specifically trust ,collaborations ,decision making ,vision ,his lack of respect for volunteers and communication .we also believe that Mr Katongo Collins has failed to abide by the ZRCS Red cross constitution ,the IFRC youth policy and the ABIDJAN 2017 YOUTH POLICY .
Every volunteer is entitled to good leadership , orderly conduct ,respect and all volunteers must succeed in a climate that sustains a passion for learning and humanity ,Volunteers must succeed when leaders maintain a just society where all volunteers are equally valued ,Mr. Katongo has failed to maintain and promote neutrality ,unity and inclusiveness instead his created a toxic environment for all volunteers without recognition of his mistakes or willingness to listen to his youth volunteers ,there is no hope for ,justice with humanity in the leadership of Katongo Collins.
We strongly feel he has inconsistency in application of the constitution and the policies and an ongoing lack of respect towards youth volunteers ,the nation cannot be run successfully with one man leadership ,when input is sought ,there is failure to follow through or a total disregard for the ideas of many volunteer youths ,when communication occurs ,it is too often delayed ,hidden and incomplete there’s just an overall feeling that we as volunteers are losing ground all the time we need a different ,more solid leadership ,the moral is just too low and feels it is time for a change.
For these reasons stated we the undersigned youth volunteers are voting “NO CONFIDENCE “ in MR KATONGO COLLINS.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response this has received. This momentum belongs entirely to the volunteers who finally decided to speak up about their experiences. It is truly humbling to see so many of you standing together for change.

its about time that mr katongo steps down, we've seen no positive change in his time. we go to camps just to chill, you don't teach us and certify us but you want certified members if there's a function or disaster. we thank you for your time, now its time to rest mr Katongo K'4_KENNY
We as youths are suffering as if we have no national youth advisor..... Mr Collins must go
We want change to the national youth position we have seen no change sense 2014 just traveling without change in the branch's at the youth department and when you travel you don't even teach us with the people you travel with change is needed thanks for the service you gave to the society sir katiz
Actually I am of the youths who were privilege to attend a dinner in 2014 as the guest were arriving for the National sitting regarding elections. During an interaction with Mr Katongo I was convinced he was a failed leader already. We need change this time around, we have competent youths who would do better in his position and bring change.
The national youth adviser has actually done nothing since the day he was ushered into the office (in 2014). This yeah he has nominated mwangala sipumo for the GENIVA trip when she's actually the same person who went with him to Zimbabwe last year,why same person? Why not other youths .

Its so true my fellow aiders , vision he might have but he has never taken action to the things that he promises to do while still in office , now a leader with this habit can not take the society anywhere because he is just full of sweet talks..
