No committee should go against the results of a public consultation. The government is there to represent the people, not just to fulfil personal agendas.

They're not in post to make their own mandates. The public has been ignored and not been considered on any level. Laughing stock of politics, a comedy panel of half wits that shouldn't be there in the first place

This decision effects the whole island and should never have gone ahead on the whim of a car hating minority. States bodies need to have their powers reduced, any such decision should have been put forward to the whole States assembly.

No supporting evidence for their decision (anecdotal or scientific) and ignoring the electorate.

Yet another unnecessary policy that is ill thought out and base on selected data to suit the dictatorship that it has become. I hope that the remaining states members will see the error of this committee's ways and overturn it. Its a shame that the signs had aready been purchased before the policy has been confirmed. Maybe the committee should have taken a short trip to Jersey and see how its done there ! And while they were there could have done a deal on the most EVIRONMENTLY friendly way get despose of our waste?
