The states need to start listening to the people and stop making absurd decisions like this.

Deputy Brehaut actually joked at the IWV debate about the fact he is so disliked and unlikely to be re-elected. Knowing their actions are so unpopular, disregarding the public consultation on the speed limits is the action of a dictatorship not a democracy. What will they waste money on next. Rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic to make it look nice as it sinks!

Interesting to know what thought has been given to the impact on those with time critical jobs which include an element of driving e.g. taxis, community nurses/carers, meals on wheels, cleaners, couriers, postmen etc. Will they really be given more driving time by their employers?!?!

Our elected deputies should be concentrating on actually running our Island. Where did this all come from as far as I am aware nobody had asked for it. Concentrate on reducing costs like the massive over spend on the waste plant.

Ridiculous to lower so many roads to 25mph! I totally understand on roads around schools and pedestrian areas where the speed limits should stay low and speed bumps installed. What are they trying to solve?

There was never any mention of this ridiculous proposal in the manifestos Barry Brehaut, Peter Roffey and Lindsay de Sausmarez. No-one would have voted for them had they said. Remember not to vote for these three in the next election.

This committee has over stepped the mark with this decision, if anything some of our speed limits should be increased to 40 mph, they use other jurisdictions as examples but the U.K has 30mph limits in built up areas! Our schools have flashing beacons and have traffic management in place while the kids are arriving and leaving school. They quote cyclist as feeling safer with slower speed limits yet many cycles travel at speeds up to and above 25mph and an awful lot of them often ride in a dangerous manner so make things unsafe by their own actions!
