I am signing this petition as i feel there was no reasonable reason to change the speed limits, also i am fed up with the states going ahead and organising things behind the back of the local people and this being one of them having already wasted money in buying the signs and making it a done deal without consultation of those who have elected them in. i cannot wait till the next elections especially now there an island wide voting, i think some people in the states should start taking note and listening to the people of Guernsey if they wish to stay in the states.

Where does this guy dream up these ridiculous ideas, leave well alone, we have the correct lower speed limits in the right places allready, schools, town etc. Brehaut wont be happy until we are all walking or on push bikes. So we all know who NOT to vote for in 2020, Yes?

Speed limits are fine as they are. If something isn’t broke don’t need to fix it.

Admittedly there are places around the island where speed limits need to be regularly ENFORCED and where some drivers need to regulate their speed more responsibly but such widespread policy change is unwelcome, unwanted and perhaps as the decision is made by the ENVIRONMENT dept I am inclined to ask how the potential massive damage to local air quality due to a mass of vehicles working at even less than optimal economic speed in the island has been determined or whether the ENVIRONMENT dept will contribute to the extra cost of fuel for the same reasons. I said I was inclined towards asking the questions but I wont. Everyone is fed up of being lied to. Surely there are far more worthy policies that should be pursued by this department instead of seemingly looking for more ways make life difficult for islanders? Priorities please Environment or move aside for someone who can positively contribute to the islands health and that of the people who live here.

Time to get rid of these idiots costing the tax payers a fortune, modern vehicle / motorcycle have much improved braking systems so good that basically stop within 6 metres at 35mph if wanted too. Most other places are increasing speed limits to help the traffic flow better. Do agree with 20-25 mph around schools but only in forced between 7.30-9.30 then 2.30-4.30.

I'm signing this petition because I think it's utterly ridiculous to drop the speed limit on that many roads and it will more than likely just cause more congestion on the roads

Such a silly waste of money and resources.

Silly idea. How can the proposal be defeated by 55%-45% and it is still considered. Who came up with this idea?

Ridiculous idea and waste of states time in which we pay for.

I think this shows disrespect for those asked, I would suggest that these deputies find more important things to do rather than just trying to make a name for themselves

Environment & Infrastructure should concentrate on improving the sub-standard road and parking infrastructure for the travelling community and drop the proposals to reduce speed limits to a crawl.
