A very foolish proposal, as it is unenforceable without the installation of speed cameras on every road. There is the added danger to other road uses due to motorists keeping an eye on speedometers instead of the road.

One or two roads, maybe. What is proposed is ludicrous. In fact, on many of the proposed roads, the existing volume of traffic, especially during the day, does not permit any vehicle to travel anywhere near 35mph! Just return the signs that have already been obtained!

To spend Tax Payers money purchasing an excessive number of 25 mph signs before a democratic consultation is an insult to the intelligence of the electorate.

It is safer to drive calmly at 35 then frustrated at 25. This is how road rage develops which is never a safe option.

Once again Deputies not listening to the electorate and justifying changes based on U K research. Stop wasting our money & time & manage Guernsey plc for the future wellbeing of the Island as a whole. Stop tinkering & get on and make changes that make a real difference to the prosperity of the Island.

These unnecessary changes will cause more issues than benefits. More pollution because people will need to drive around in lower gears, more conflict with cyclists due to the fact it will be harder to overtake within the speed limit. Also, due to the fact that the emergency services are supposed to keep to the speed limit when responding, how will response times be effected? i.e. someone having a heart attack up at L'Ancresse or a house burning down in Torteval.

I agree with Carol Falla's comments. 25mph is acceptable near schools. Sensible drivers can't go any faster in many lanes and roads anyway. This will lead to more frustration. Individuals will speed regardless.

Changing roads from 35mph to 25mph makes no sense on the largest roads in guernsey. Roads with no pavements should be made 25mph for safety but the halfway and Braye road are 2 of the widest roads on the island so it makes no sense. No thought has been put into this!

Shows how the committee is out of touch with reality, there is a movement in Jersey to increase their speed on certain roads. Increasing speed limits will trash Gavin St. Piers aim to make Guernsey a happy place for the people.
Pointless and not necessary
