our speed limit should be kept at 35mph it is common sense as and when to reduce this is just ridiculour wanting it down to 25mph on so many roads

I agree bringing in a slower limit won't slow the speeds down only make the States more money in fines! Maybe that's what they want?

A spiteful decision from very arrogant people. You have very minimal support. You should go.

Cars are getting safer and safer, braking distances are far lower than they used to be. This seems more like a money grab to me than anything else.
If the States truly want to make the roads safer, there are other avenues to pursue, such as mandatory driving test retakes after a certain age.
Just earlier this week I witnessed one old woman overtake the queue of traffic at the lights on kings road and drive half way down the road on the wrong side and then force entry back into the queue after realising her mistake.
I'd be interested to hear some actual reasoning behind this decision. Did anyone really want this change?

No evidence to support reducing the speed limit in most of the proposed roads and very little public support for the idea!
