The committee members have resigned following the pressure generated by these 3,189 signatures. While I am relieved that our concerns were finally addressed, we must remain engaged to ensure that the next leadership prioritizes the actual will of the public.

Final supporters
Recently in Guernsey the Committee for the Environment & Infrastructure has decided to change the speed limits on 80 of Guernsey's roads, moving from 35mph to 25mph. Despite 55% of the people asked, by the committee, saying they didn't want these changes, the committee has gone ahead and agreed to the reduction of speed.
We the undersigned, have no confidence left in the committee to carry out the Environment & Infrastructure mandate in light of their recent decision with regards to speed limits.
As a result we request that Deputies: Barry Brehaut, Mark Dorey, Shane Langlois, Lindsay De Sausmarez, Sarah Hansmann-Rouxel, resign from this committee with immediate effect. Allowing a more pragmatic committee to be formulated and fulfill this important role within the States of Guernsey.

I am disappointed that I took the time to take part in and respond to the consultation only for it to be ignored. I honestly cannot see how a decision can be made ignoring the respondents and not having any real data to base it on.
Not only is it damaging to vehicles driving that slow it’s also damaging to the environment as vehicles moving that slowly everywhere create more pollution. When was the last fatal accident? It’s a very rare occurrence. Why fix what’s not broken!
There was never any mention of this ridiculous proposal in the manifestos Barry Brehaut, Peter Roffey and Lindsay de Sausmarez. No-one would have voted for them had they said. Remember not to vote for these three in the next election.
I have no confidence remaining in the committee of Environment and Infrastructure due to their recent decision to reduce the speed limit from 35mph to 25mph on over 80 of the Island’s roads and therefore request their resignation.
Parcels will take longer to be delivered, delivery drivers will be on the roads longer, emissions will increase and freight companies will be paying their drivers the same to make less deliveries. Somebody some wgere didn't think of this one
they have no respect to any public say and we are not stupid
Strongly against this ridiculous waste of taxpayers funds. The states must surely have more pressing matters to address

Changing roads from 35mph to 25mph makes no sense on the largest roads in guernsey. Roads with no pavements should be made 25mph for safety but the halfway and Braye road are 2 of the widest roads on the island so it makes no sense. No thought has been put into this!
