Subject: Petition for Change – A Call for Leadership Accountability
Dear Fellow Members,
We, the undersigned members of the Zambian community in the Tri-State area, are coming together to voice our concerns regarding the current state of leadership within our nonprofit organization. After witnessing repeated violations of trust, governance, and transparency by President Clever Kanyanta, we are compelled to act in the interest of our community and its future.
This petition serves as a call for change, accountability, and respect for the bylaws that govern our organization. Below, we outline key issues that have deeply impacted the integrity and effectiveness of our leadership:
1. Abuse of Authority and Violation of Bylaws: President Kanyata has consistently misused his authority, acting in ways that disregard the bylaws meant to guide and protect our organization. His actions have created confusion and mistrust, threatening the foundation of our nonprofit.
2. Unilateral Decision-Making: Major decisions affecting the organization have been made without consulting members or the executive team. This lack of collaboration has led to poor outcomes and a culture of exclusion.
3. Mismanagement of Disciplinary Actions: The unjust suspension of Ms. Kabwela, based on unsubstantiated allegations of misappropriation of funds, is an example of the President’s lack of accountability. Despite multiple requests, no evidence has been provided, and this matter remains unresolved.
4. Exclusionary Practices: Recently, the Vice President was removed as Admin from the forums without any consultation or explanation. This further demonstrates a pattern of exclusion and disregard for proper governance.
These issues have persisted for over three months, damaging the organization and eroding trust within our community. Despite attempts to resolve these matters internally, it has become clear that change is necessary to protect the integrity of our nonprofit and ensure it remains aligned with its mission.
We are calling on all Zambian members in the Tri-State area to join us in signing this petition to demand the removal of President Kanyanta from office and restore accountability, transparency, and collaborative leadership to our organization.
Your voice matters. Together, we can build a stronger and more unified community that upholds the values we cherish.
Sign this petition and be a part of the change we need. Let us stand together to ensure a brighter and more equitable future for our organization.
Sincerely,
Ms. Tryness Mwale
Vice President of Zambian Family Organization
