While the development itself isn't bad, the location is terrible.

As new residents of Great Wood, we oppose the zoning change proposed in Zoning Case 17-Z-033. We just moved from Brushy Creek where similar high density housing was added with inadequate infrastructure. Within the last 5 months, two pedestrians have been hit by motorists in our old neighborhood, one of them (a friend of ours) was killed while she was walking her dog. The Great Wood area is ill equipped to handle a huge increase in traffic volume.. Leander should follow existing zoning guidelines and taper the zoning levels in a more sensible manner or you will be putting the safety of the people you represent in jeopardy.

The proposed Cottage/Garden home development will be devastating to the rural community...a subdivision should be in accordance to 1 acre lots per the rural area limitations of roads, wastewater and City water...

Concerned about safety as our neighborhood doesnt have sidewalks and increased traffic to a confined space could increase accidents. This needs to be avoided. Also, i anticipate our house values to decrease with the type of housing proposed.
