We utilize our school choice to homeschool because the public school system failed our children. Because of the freedom we now enjoy, I am able to tailor my children's education to them in a way that was impossible to public schools. Please vote no to these subsidies. They are not going to solve the issues in the public schools, but they will defund public schools and therefore create a need for regulation of private and homeschool education because of this who will undoubtedly abuse these proposed "ESAs."

Keep government out of new areas of education!
The bills before the Texas legislature do NOT set up educational savings accounts; these are educational welfare accounts. Nor do they promote school choice; we already have that, and these bills offer fewer choices. These bills don't create free market or competition in education; the comptroller/TEA would be hard at work verifying $ went to their idea of approved courses and curricula.
You see, Government does not "free market" well!

So since tax money is to follow the student under this proposal, can my parents & grandparents quit paying property taxes since they no longer utilize the system? After all, their property belongs to them, NOT the state! What we do in our school is NOT the business of the government! Much like their property belongs to them, not the state! Vote NO against ESA's!

This bill is a monster designed to take away the rights of private and home schools. I in no way want funding from the public education system if that funding comes with strings like prior public school attendance, approved curriculums, achievement testing etc. Vote no.

Money is always the control vehicle and especially government money. The government, federal and state, desire to indoctrinate the minds of all children/young people, and as home schooling has flourished successfully outside their grasp, they must gain control of home schooling before it is too late.
